Carrie receives Wife of the Year Award
Most of you know that Kirk is a HUGE Packer fan. Most people forgive him since he is from Wisconsin and you really can't help it if you are from Wisconsin. People in Wisconsin are born Packer fans - there's really nothing they can do.
As for Carrie, she grew up watching the Vikings with her dad. Little did Dad know that his dear little daughter would someday marry a Packer fan...and that she would become a fan as well. To be more accurate, she would become a fan of Brett Favre.
Being the perfect wife that she is...for their 5 year anniversary, Carrie got Kirk two tickets to see the Packers play the Seahawks on January 1st at LAMBEAU FIELD!!! Yes, Carrie could do no wrong for a while. :)
Thankfully, it was in the 30's the day of the game (Carrie was relieved...what had she gotten herself into???). Our seats were AWESOME. They were right next to the tunnel where the teams run in and out. It was quite an experience watching a game at Lambeau Field - the pride and excitement were overwhelming. It was a great game...and much to our surprise, they won! We were sure it was in our honor, they just couldn't make it public. But we know...and we appreciate it. Go Pack!

It's Baby Time!
What you all have been asking about for the last, say, 5 years is going to happen! On Thanksgiving weekend, we were thrilled to find out that we were pregnant with our first child!!! The baby is due August 3, 2006. Everyone is very excited, especially our parents. We had a blast telling them in person at Christmas that we were finally going to produce a grandchild! This will be the fourth for Carrie's parents and first for Kirk's parents. Whether it was the first or fourth, tears were shed and hugs and smiles were shared.
Carrie has felt just fine so far. The first trimester passed without any morning sickness to both soon-to-be parents' relief. She has been tired but overall, doing fantastic. There have been two ultrasounds so far and things are looking good! Our 20 week appointment is quickly approaching and we will determine once and for all if we are going to find out the baby's gender. Will it be a little Kirk or Carrie???

New Cat in Town
Carrie is a bit obsessive about our cats - this is guaranteed to transfer mostly to our child once it's born but the poor cats have to put up with her for another 5-6 months. So if you are not a cat fan, please bear with us for the next several photos!
We have had Hannah (aka "Hannahbelle") since 1998 when Carrie found her wandering in a Ford dealership in Kenyon, MN. Carrie says that it was "meant to be." Kirk says that it was "theft." Nonetheless, Hannah became ours and she is our little sweetheart.
Sly (aka "Sly Guy" and "Booger") joined our family this past November. He was very skittish when we met him but he was a bit older than the other kitties so we thought he would be a better match for Hannah. He slowly got used to us and our home but continues to be nervous around new people. This puzzles us because he is an attention-hog and follows us around whenever we are home. He doesn't understand that new people means new hands to pet and hold him.
Hannah and Sly are by no means friends yet but have made a lot of progress. If Sly would learn to stop biting Hannah while wrestling, that might be a step in the right direction. She still growls at him but Sly doesn't really care. He continues to jump her when the mood strikes him but even though he could kick her butt, she remains the dominant cat (it's all in the attitude). We hope that someday they will be best buds.

New House
The following are some pictures of our new house that we bought at the end of July. This is our first house and we really love it. It's got three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a sun porch, a deck, and a somewhat finished basement. The previous owners did some nice updates and there really wasn't too much work to do when we moved in. Enjoy the pictures!
