Julia's First Haircut

Julia has great hair with adorable ringlets in the back but the time finally came when her hair was in her eyes so we brought her to my stylist. I was a little nervous about losing the curl but Amber just trimmed the ends in the back and it actually made the curls spring up even more!
One more milestone under our belts - our baby is getting so big!!!

Here we go!

Thanking Miss Amber for a great first haircut experience!

Chatting with Julia

Julia is quite the talker! Of course, when I try to capture her jabbering on video, she clams up! She'll attempt to say any word you ask her - my favorite words and phrases she says are mommy (of course!), love you, caterpillar, bubble, cookie, banana, please, and thank you (because I'm so proud that she has good manners!).

Bringing in the New Year

We hope everyone's new year has started off well. The three of us went to a nearby nature center to celebrate New Year's Eve this year. Julia was too young for the outdoor activities (cross country skiing, ice skating, snow shoeing, etc.) but we took a little walk to enjoy the candle lit trail. We spent most of the time indoors - Julia especially was entertained by the storyteller. The center brought in different animals but Julia was more intrigued by a woman's faux chinchilla hat rather than the live chinchilla!

Our Christmas

We were fortunate to be able to see both sides of our families for Christmas this year. Julia had a great time opening presents, singing and dancing to Christmas music, and eating Christmas goodies. This year's Christmas was a little hectic with my new job but the holidays always seem to be a whirlwind of activity. One thing is for sure, Christmas is much more special now that we can share it with a little one. Julia makes us smile every day and we were so thrilled to make the holiday a special time for her.

Julia really enjoyed all the Christmas singing contraptions she encountered throughout the holiday - especially the many at Grammy & Grandpa's (who got a kick out of bringing pure joy to their granddaughter with a push of a button).
Here Julia is enjoying our singing snowman and penguins.
